Marco Boella is Chief Executive Officer of Lemoptix and is in charge of the overall strategy and development of the company. Prior to co-founding Lemoptix, Marco has held several leadership positions in sales-, marketing and general management within global corporations such as HP and Nokia as well as IT-, telecommunications and software start-ups, such as Solid Information Technology (acquired by IBM), CNET Channel, Inforay and Applic8. In addition to his wide industry experience, he has a very strong track record in developing new businesses from zero, leading geographically dispersed teams and driving business growth across multi-country regions. Marco holds a M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Technology, Helsinki, Finland.
Dr. Nicolas Abelé - CTO and Co-Founder
Nicolas Abelé is Chief Technology Officer of Lemoptix and is responsible for the company's technology strategy and its focus on innovation. Nicolas has extensive experience in Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MOEMS) product- and business development through his previous activity at STMicroelectronics (France), where he acted as the liaison between the engineering-, marketing- and sales teams. He has strong knowledge of large volume industrial environments and innovation technology transfer through IP creation. He was the laureate of the 2005 European Award for Innovation and has been involved in several European Projects, aimed at MOEMS innovation where he served as work-package leader. Nicolas has obtained his PhD degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) and holds numerous patents in the field of MOEMS components.
John Dunne - Head of Sales and Marketing
John Dunne is Head of Sales and Marketing at Lemoptix. John is in charge of all commercial activities and leads the marketing program. John has more than 20 years of international business development and management experience within leading electronics- and sensors companies. Most recently he was the Senior Market Manager for a leading industrial sensors manufacturer in Germany, covering the Asian market and served on the Board of Directors of a Japanese-German joint venture R&D company. More than half of his working career thus far has been in the APAC region and he speaks fluent Japanese. John holds a B.Sc. in Engineering from Dublin City University Ireland and holds an executive MBA degree from IMD.
Faouzi Khechana - Head Engineering, MOEMS and Co-Founder
Faouzi Khechana is Head Engineering, MOEMS subsystems. Faouzi is the technical lead for our MOEMS subsystems strategy, from design and development to fabrication and testing. Faouzi has a strong track record in MOEMS micromirror development and industrialization and has been involved in their development since the first generation. Previously he was a member of staff at the Center for Micro and Nanotechnology of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), where he worked on the microfabrication of MOEMS devices for several applications. Most recently he has developed fabrication processes and was responsible for a production line of MOEMS components for a leading Swiss watch company. Faouzi holds a BSc. and MSc. in Nanostructures and Microsystems from the Paris-Orsay University.
Lucio Kilcher - Head Engineering, Optical Systems and Co-Founder
Lucio Kilcher is Head Engineering, Optical Subsystems. In this role Lucio leads the development and industrialization of our optical subsystems technology. Lucio has extensive experience in the design and development of complete optoelectronic systems and has been in charge of the MOEMS microprojector development since its early days. Previously, in his position as R&D Engineer at the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO), he led the development of various devices integrating electronics and optical elements, from idea to final product. Lucio holds a BSc in Microtechnology from the University of Engineering and Information Technology (HTI Biel) and a MSc. in Nano- and Microtechnology from the HES-SO Geneva, Switzerland.
